Green Cool Schools Award 2026/27: Submissions are now open!

Is your school becoming greener? Have you created a school garden, planted trees, developed a green classroom or implemented another greening initiative? Or are you currently planning a new project? 

Submissions for the Green Cool Schools Award 2026/27 are now open! 

Schools and educational institutions from around the world are invited to submit their greening projects and share their ideas and experiences with the Green Cool Schools community. Completed, ongoing and planned projects are all welcome. 

By submitting a project, your school automatically takes part in the Green Cool Schools Award and becomes part of the Green Cool Schools Network. Submitted projects will be presented on our platform and included in the public voting. 

How does the Award work?

Projects can be submitted until 15 December 2026. The public voting will take place in January 2027, with the project receiving the highest number of eligible votes in each participating Green Cool Schools project country being selected as a national winner. 

Eligible national winning projects may receive financial support of up to €500 for documented expenses directly related to the planning, implementation, improvement or maintenance of their school greening project.

What projects can be submitted?

We are looking for projects that make schools greener, more sustainable and climate-resilient. These could include, for example, school gardens, green classrooms, tree planting, vertical greening, biodiversity areas, composting projects, green outdoor learning spaces or other creative greening initiatives. 

Whether your project is already completed, currently being implemented or still in the planning stage – we would love to hear about it!
