The Project
Last year, our motto was “Taking root, reaching heights.”
Our goal was to make the classrooms greener. Each class received a houseplant they had to take care of. This worked very well.
The second point is the greening of the outdoor areas of our school. We have big plans, but unfortunately the funding is very limited. The plans have been made (see photos), and now we are trying to put them into practice with our own resources.
The school already has a field, a snack garden, green meadows, and several trees. However, more trees and the greening of the courtyard are still planned. We have already started working on this this year. We hope to achieve the other goals next year as well.
Our school is located right in the city center. More and more of the surroundings are being covered in concrete. We want to be a green oasis and show that there is another way.
In the school garden, individual classes can grow plants. The snack hedges are available to everyone. The greening of the courtyard was initiated by a teacher, and further projects are being planned with students — for example, a living green wall.
More details
Funding is very difficult. Federal resources are limited. So far, we have raised money through a school run, and there are plans for an auction.
