Produzenten sind die Organismen, die Biomasse produzieren. Hierbei handelt es sich ma\u00dfgeblich um Pflanzen und Bakterien. Konsumenten verbrauchen diese Biomasse und sind energetisch von den Produzenten abh\u00e4ngig. Konsumenten sind haupts\u00e4chlich Menschen und Tiere. Zersetzer oder Destruenten sind die Lebewesen im Produzenten-Konsumenten-Destruenten-Kreislauf, die f\u00fcr den Abbau toter organischer Masse verantwortlich sind. Sie \u00fcberf\u00fchren diese in einfache organische Verbindungen und machen sie so anderen Lebewesen wieder zug\u00e4nglich.
